The facility houses logic, memory, packaging, test, and lithography mask production under one roof, optimized for rapid iteration and maximum compute density per square foot. Tesla is seeking a Staff Construction EHS Specialist to join the Terafab Construction EHS team. Reporting to the Construction EHS Manager, you will provide hands-on, on-site EHS support in a fast-paced construction environment—setting clear safety expectations, coaching and empowering Tesla construction teams, stakeholders, and partner contractors, and driving real-time risk reduction and continuous improvement of Tesla's Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) standards so the site remains a safe, healthy, and high-performing workplace. What You'll Do Drive strategic EHS initiatives for the Terafab Project as a critical technical resource ( 50/50 tactical and strategic), providing field safety oversight of construction work, conducting project walks focused on safe work practices, and coaching workers when corrections are required—owning outcomes and follow-through well beyond day-to-day field presence Teach, train, and coach business teams and support staff on fundamental EHS&S concepts and principles; influence, inspire, and empower teams to reduce risk in line with Tesla EHS&S vision, values, and principles Accountable for strategic EHS outcomes on high-hazard work: participate in pre-execution reviews (critical lifts, confined space, high voltage, pressure testing, fall protection plans, etc.); review Pre-Work Risk Assessments and Pre-Task Plans so tasks, hazards, and mitigations align with field work; set ambitious goals tied to organizational OKRs and drive measurable improvements in enterprise-level safety KPIs Lead proactive field inspections to verify work meets EHS&S goals; integrate diverse datasets and document findings in internal tools; apply advanced critical and analytical thinking to shape improvement opportunities with EHS&S management, supervisors, operations managers, and stakeholders; take full ownership of successes and failures and drive corrective action to completion Champion a culture of ownership in high-stakes settings: present material clearly and compellingly to Tesla construction management and contractors in safety meetings; adapt messaging for situation and audience, including executive leadership; serve as a trusted authority and resource who provides guidance, direction, and cross-functional influence on EHS requirements Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal health and safety regulations What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent experience 7-10 years of hands-on experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (Semiconductor facilities, Automotive, tool/equipment installation, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.) CSP, GSP, ASP or CHST preferred Background in electrical, mechanical and process plumbing systems, or heavy civil preferred Working knowledge of OSHA, ISO, ANSI, NFPA and ASTM standards Ability to communicate clearly and interface across multiple departments Have previous experience building, working in; semiconductor facilities, cleanroom environments; fabrication plants or research & development labs Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Tesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
