Our focus is on designing, manufacturing and distributing products for automotive, diesel, power-sports and specialty filter markets. We are excited to announce that we're hiring a Packaging Engineer for our Albion, IL location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the primary function of this role is to provide new part setup, change management, and continuous improvement support to our manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support to the operations, sourcing, marketing, and product teams throughout the development and commercialization of new products Analyze product drawings and specifications to determine physical characteristics of products, special handling, environment and safety requirements and type of materials required for packaging Troubleshoot packaging problems involving design, material, and processes providing timely and cost-effective solutions. Implement corrective actions where necessary. Build packaging BOM's, pallet configurations, and label guides for new part numbers Collaborate with purchasing and operations to evaluate and validate new sources of packaging and labeling materials. Ensures appropriate validation plans are completed. Inputs and maintains customer portal data as it relates to packaging development and approval as required Creates dielines for new packaging Maintains knowledge of customer packaging requirements to ensure compliance Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent in education and experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in a packaging role utilizing paper-based packaging (paperboard, cardboard, etc) Adobe Illustrator, Artios
CAD, CAPE
