Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning recovery and startup of two
GE LM6000
simple-cycle gas turbine units. This position will provide hands-on mechanical commissioning support, identify and troubleshoot equipment deficiencies, and assist with system testing and startup activities through reliable commercial operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform mechanical commissioning, system checkout, and startup activities. Conduct equipment inspections, system walkdowns, and mechanical readiness checks. Troubleshoot turbine mechanical, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and auxiliary systems. Support equipment testing, valve checks, flushing, leak checks, and system verification activities. Identify deficiencies and support resolution of mechanical punch-list items. Assist with turbine startups, shutdowns, testing, and reliability runs. Coordinate with the Mechanical Lead, operators, I&C/electrical personnel, contractors, OEMs, and vendors.
Job Requirements :
Hands-on mechanical commissioning, startup, maintenance, or field service experience. Knowledge of gas turbine mechanical and auxiliary systems. Experience with pumps, valves, piping, lubrication, fuel, cooling, and hydraulic systems. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in the field. Ability to work an extended commissioning schedule in an active power plant environment. Education /
Experience:
Technical or mechanical training preferred, or equivalent field experience. 5+ years of mechanical commissioning, startup, maintenance, or field service experience preferred. Previous LM6000, LM2500, TM2500, or comparable aeroderivative gas turbine experience strongly preferred.
