&cws=55&rid=6118) Ghostrock, LLC , a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC , and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader,is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technician / Shop Support Specialist to support the USDA Forest Service's Wildland Fire Chemical Systems Laboratory at the National Technology and Development Program in Missoula, Montana. The selected candidate will help design, fabricate, machine, test, and maintain specialized equipment that supports national wildfire suppression, sustainable timber production, engineering, and recreation priorities. Key Responsibilities

+ Assist with technical design and development of specialized machinery and equipment, including drafting and CAD modeling.

+ Fabricate and assemble components using welding, cutting, forming, and related processes.

+ Operate lathes, mills, grinders, and potentially CNC equipment to manufacture precision parts.

+ Conduct functional testing and validation of fabricated or modified equipment; collect and analyze performance data.

+ Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot shop machinery and tools to support safe operational readiness.

+ Follow engineering drawings, design specifications, safety protocols, and shop SOPs.

+ Identify design or fabrication issues and recommend practical improvements.

+ Use computer applications for design, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.

+ Assist with equipment installation, deployment, and field support as needed. Required Qualifications

+ Associate's degree in an engineering discipline or related technical field plus at least five years of experience working in a fabrication shop; OR at least 10 years of fabrication-shop experience without the degree.

+ Proficiency with fabrication equipment.

+ Experience reading CAD drawings.

+ Knowledge of fabrication principles and methods. Additional Requirements

+ Strong attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills.

+ Ability to follow all applicable safety rules, standard operating procedures, and technical requirements.

+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend extended periods standing or walking.
