Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Project Engineer L4 for a contract opportunity in Canoga Park, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • Requires thorough understanding of various engineering and manufacturing processes such as design, specification generation, BOM's, manufacturing planning, tooling, procurement, production scheduling, validation test planning as well as quality functions.
  • Communicates well, both verbal and written, with contacts within and outside the organization (e.
g. customers, suppliers, etc.) for execution of the project objectives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead CAM duties utilizing "Earned Value Management System" (EVMS) with quick turnaround cycles.
  • Manage the technical aspects, cost and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) of projects utilizing EVM principles to ensure financial well-being of the overall program as well as generating end-to-end proposal development for submittal to customer.
  • Works under IPT Lead consultative direction with minimal oversight and has responsibility for project or processes within the functional program management area.
  • Provide imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving the conventional utilization of engineering techniques.
  • Responsible for briefing management and supporting program managers for briefing customers on all facets of assigned projects.
  • Up to 10% business travel to suppliers and other production sites.
  • Position may require extended hours as needed to meet business objectives
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
):
  • Unique industry knowledge and experience with small thruster storable propellant propulsion systems development, manufacturing, and Hot Fire validation testing.
  • Ability to understand propulsion system technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to participate and produce proposals including customer requirement synthesis, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) definition, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) definition, Pricing Inputs and Basis of Estimate (BOE) generation.
  • Experience with Government Propulsion customers and prime contractors.
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, Power Point, Word).
REQUIRED EDUCATION
  • Accredited Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of priorEngineering experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years ofprior Engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Engineering experience.
