Job Description:
Automation Engineering Lead Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineering Lead to oversee the development, integration, and deployment of high-speed automated assembly and test systems. This role will provide technical leadership from concept and equipment specification through installation, qualification, production launch, and site handoff. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of automated assembly and test systems. Develop equipment specifications, URS requirements, concepts, layouts, and qualification plans. Lead equipment quoting and collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams. Partner with manufacturing sites to support installation, troubleshooting, ramp-up, and continuous improvement. Drive improvements in downtime, scrap, throughput, and OEE. Provide technical leadership on complex, multi-site automation projects. Research emerging automation technologies and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate on RFQs, DFM, product design, equipment design, and engineering transfers. Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to manufacturing and automation projects. Ensure projects meet applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automation Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in automation equipment design, integration, installation, or manufacturing engineering. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, controls, software, and automated manufacturing systems. Experience in high-volume manufacturing; electronics, healthcare, or life sciences experience is preferred. Strong project leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to travel internationally to Europe and Latin America as needed.

Remote, with preference for candidates in the Southern or Southeastern U.S.
