Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary Hands-on position that supports the development, evaluation, troubleshooting, improvement, and addition of new manufacturing methods. Assists production personnel with product design reviews, materials and parts, fabrication processes, assembly methods, lean tools, and quality control standards. Core Responsibilities
  • Lead manufacturing improvement initiatives that increase productivity, capacity, quality, and operational performance
  • Serve as a technical leader for process design, optimization, and standardization across multiple manufacturing areas
  • Develop/review/update/maintain manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and process documentation.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and lead root cause analysis to implement effective, lasting solutions.
  • Design or assist in designing jigs, fixtures, tooling, and special production equipment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in identifying and resolving manufacturing and production challenges
  • Evaluate, and implement new equipment, and manufacturing systems. Includes capital equipment justification and implementation as required.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical methods to improve process capability, reduce variation, and increase operational performance
  • Establish product expectations through the use of manufacturing standards, best practices, and engineering documentation to support production
  • Provide technical guidance and training to Operations personnel as required, including the use of new tooling, fixtures, jigs and other special production equipment.
  • Interface with suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and external technical resources. This includes supporting Purchasing and Quality with sourcing selection.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing improvement initiatives throughout the operation Experience
  • Four (4) year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in a production environment
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement, equipment implementation, and operational excellence initiatives
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, process capability, root cause analysis, and statistical problem-solving techniques
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results without direct authority
  • Strong project management, communication, and technical leadership skills
  • Ability to assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency
  • Experience using Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Designing jigs, fixtures, tooling, and special production equipment
  • 3D printing
  • Solid Works certification
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
