Type:
full-time We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support industrial automation, process control, instrumentation, electrical systems, and factory automation within a manufacturing environment. This role will support automation and CAPEX projects from design through commissioning and startup, while providing hands-on technical support to Production and Maintenance. The engineer will also identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, increase efficiency, and enhance plant automation systems. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, commission, and troubleshoot industrial automation systems. Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems . Support Siemens S7 and TIA Portal PLC systems. Troubleshoot instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, control valves, VFDs, and electrical control panels. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentation. Support industrial communication networks, MES , data collection, and equipment integration. Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance and assist with root-cause analysis. Maintain PLC programs, HMI applications, system backups, electrical drawings, and automation documentation. Support equipment installation, testing, commissioning, startup, and continuous improvement projects. Work with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, IT, Quality, vendors, and automation integrators. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics , or related field. 5+ years of industrial automation, controls, or process control experience. Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience. Experience with Siemens
S7 / TIA
Portal preferred. Experience with HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, VFDs, and industrial networks. Ability to read electrical schematics and control panel drawings. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience supporting automation projects from design through implementation and startup. Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing or process-industry experience. Food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, or similar industry experience. Experience with AVEVA System Platform/Wonderware, MES, PID control, and machine safety systems . Knowledge of GMP, SQF, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence . Work Environment This position works in both office and manufacturing environments and requires regular interaction with production equipment and personnel. The candidate must be comfortable working around electrical systems, machinery, noise, temperature variations, chemicals, and other manufacturing hazards while following PPE, LOTO, GMP, SQF, and safety requirements.
