The Spring Manufacturing Technician / Apprentice is a hands-on training position for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, comfortable working with measurements, and interested in learning a specialized manufacturing trade. The selected candidate will train directly with experienced personnel to learn spring manufacturing processes, blueprint interpretation, equipment operation, measurement techniques, testing, and quality requirements. As skills develop, the employee will work more independently and take on greater responsibility within the operation. Spring manufacturing experience is not required. Hands-on training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and ready to learn a specialized manufacturing trade.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn to read and interpret spring and wire-form blueprints, technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
Learn to grind springs to required specifications and verify finished dimensions.
Learn to properly use calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
Learn to operate machining and spring-manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
Learn to operate a kick press and follow applicable safety procedures.
Learn to use spring testing and quality-control equipment.
Measure, inspect, and test finished products to confirm they meet blueprint and customer requirements.
Follow written, verbal, and diagram-based work instructions and established manufacturing procedures.
Identify production or quality issues and learn appropriate adjustments and troubleshooting methods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Develop the knowledge and judgment needed to progressively take on more independent production responsibilities.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to work accurately with measurements, dimensions, and detailed specifications.
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn equipment and manufacturing processes through hands-on instruction.
Strong attention to detail, consistency, and commitment to quality.
Dependability and punctuality, including the ability to consistently report for an approximately 4:00 AM start time.
Ability to work independently as training and proficiency increase.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Previous manufacturing, machining, fabrication, mechanical, automotive, maintenance, tooling, or similar hands-on experience.
Experience reading blueprints or technical drawings.
Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or other precision measurement tools.
Experience operating machining or production equipment.
Previous spring manufacturing experience.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT PATH
This role is designed to build practical skill through hands-on training with experienced personnel. Advancement in responsibility will be based on demonstrated competency, quality of work, reliability, and readiness to perform tasks independently.
Shop safety, terminology, and manufacturing fundamentals
Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
Measurement tools and inspection techniques
Spring grinding and kick press operation
Testing and quality verification
Machine operation, setup, and process adjustments
Troubleshooting and increasingly independent production responsibilities
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, comfortable learning by doing, and proud of accurate work. A strong candidate will ask questions, pay attention to details, follow established processes, and take ownership as their skills grow.
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
Pay range is $20.00-$23.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE). This is a part-time position based at our Bullhead City, Arizona facility, with work performed on-site. The regular schedule is Monday through Thursday from approximately 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Weekly hours are generally 20-25 hours and may vary slightly based on workload and operational needs.
