Model Drug is an independent, 24-hour long-term care closed door pharmacy dedicated to providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to skilled nursing facilities across central California. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Production Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy operations team. This position focuses on medication production and dispensing in a fast-paced long-term care environment. Position Requirements:
Current California Pharmacy Technician License High school diploma or equivalent Prefer 6 months experience in retail, long term care or hospital pharmacy Excellent phone & computer skills Excellent typing skills & pharmacy knowledge Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Knowledge of HIPAA compliance Knowledge of Federal and California Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations Understand Medicare Policy and compliance
What You'll Do:
Prepare, fill, and package medications for long-term care residents. Fill and maintain bingo cards, punch cards, strip packaging, and other compliance packaging. Accurately stage medications for pharmacist verification. Restock automated dispensing equipment and pharmacy inventory. Maintain inventory of medications and supplies. Process medication returns and assist with credit processing. Assist with controlled substance inventory procedures in accordance with company policies. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production work area. Work closely with pharmacists and fellow technicians to meet workflow deadlines and/or complete miscellaneous projects Follow all California Board of Pharmacy regulations, HIPAA requirements, and company policies.
Schedule:
Full time Morning shift Weekend rotation required
Physical Demands:
You may sit, stand, bend and walk intermittently seven (7) to ten (10) hours per day May be necessary to work extended hours as needed May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion Visual acuity to see and read fine prints.
