Based on experience Position Summary Solidification Products International, Inc. (SPI) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Polymer & Media Production Technician to support our Quality Assurance and Manufacturing departments. This is a hands-on production position involving the preparation, blending, testing, and documentation of specialized polymers and filtration media used in SPI's patented environmental protection products. The technician will follow established formulas and procedures, prepare production batches, perform flow-rate and compaction testing, document results, and help maintain consistent product quality. The successful candidate will work closely with SPI's Quality Assurance Manager/Lead Chemist and will gradually learn the company's media formulations, testing procedures, production methods, and ISO quality requirements. This position offers the opportunity to take on additional technical and production responsibilities as experience and product knowledge develop. Primary Responsibilities Weigh, measure, blend, and prepare different polymers and filtration media according to approved formulas and production instructions. Produce small- and production-scale batches while maintaining consistency between batches. Perform batch testing, including flow-rate, compaction, density, absorption, and other product-performance evaluations. Record raw-material quantities, batch information, test results, production times, and observations accurately. Identify and report results that fall outside established specifications. Assist with troubleshooting inconsistencies in raw materials, formulations, blending, compaction, or finished-product performance. Prepare samples for testing, customer evaluations, product development, and quality verification. Operate and maintain blending, weighing, testing, and production equipment. Keep the laboratory and production areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements. Monitor raw-material and production-supply inventory and notify management when materials need to be reordered. Follow established

quality procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and production controls. Assist with writing and updating standard operating procedures, work instructions, batch records, testing procedures, and production-capability documentation. Support product-development and continuous-improvement projects. Work with manufacturing and quality personnel to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Perform other related laboratory, quality, and production duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, blending, batching, laboratory testing, quality control, or a similar technical environment. Ability to follow written formulas, work instructions, safety procedures, and testing methods. Ability to accurately weigh, measure, mix, test, and document materials. Basic mathematical skills, including percentages, weights, measurements, ratios, and unit conversions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent results. Ability to maintain accurate production and quality records. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with a small team. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree, technical certificate, or related coursework in manufacturing technology, materials science, laboratory technology, quality assurance, or a related field. Experience with production batching, formulation, compounding, or material blending. Experience performing flow-rate, compaction, density, absorption, or other physical-property testing. Experience working within an ISO 9001 or other controlled quality-management system. Experience preparing SOPs, work instructions, batch records, or quality-control documentation. Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, scales, measuring devices, and basic laboratory instruments. A bachelor's degree is not required for this position. Relevant hands-on manufacturing, production, laboratory, or quality-control experience will receive primary consideration. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work in both laboratory and manufacturing environments. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive production tasks. Ability to safely lift and move containers, bags, raw materials, and finished products within established workplace limits. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and other protection appropriate to the task. Ability to work safely around powders, polymers, media, production equipment, and testing apparatus. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, follows procedures carefully, and takes pride in producing consistent, properly documented results. This person should be comfortable moving between production, testing, documentation, and quality-control responsibilities. SPI is a small business, so adaptability, reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to learn different parts of the operation are essential. The strongest candidate will be interested in developing long-term knowledge of SPI's proprietary materials, production processes, testing methods, and quality requirements.
