Required Education:

• Associate's degree in Mechatronics or a relevant field with 0 years of experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience in electronic, mechanical, or software troubleshooting

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience supporting testing of moderately complex instruments.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Experience using mechanical tools such as torque drivers, gauges, and bits.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in electronic, mechanical, or software troubleshooting is strongly preferred
• Experience with medical devices, regulated manufacturing, assembly, or instrument testing environments is preferred

Responsibilities:

• Perform production assembly operations, system analysis, testing, and performance optimization
• Build, integrate, and understand complete assembly processes and requirements for instruments
• Perform functional and release testing on at least one moderately complex instrument
• Analyze test results and data to determine pass/fail outcomes and provide solutions when failures occur
• Optimize instrument system performance, including precision of movement and/or light systems, using test data
• Perform basic electrical, mechanical, and software troubleshooting on non-functioning test equipment
• Identify defects and recommend design and process improvements
• Read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
• Train and mentor associates on mechanical and testing activities
• Identify and escalate issues related to instrument testing operations
• Provide subject matter expertise regarding instrument functional performance
• Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing as needed
• Perform material handling functions for instrument raw materials and sub-assemblies
• Complete production activities in compliance with regulatory requirements and BD Safety and Quality standards
• Follow established procedures in accordance with GMP
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Blitzes, shift-start meetings, Kaizen Action Sheets, Safety activities, and other CI projects
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment through required housekeeping activities
• Follow all BD housekeeping and safety policies and procedures
• Work overtime as required to meet business needs
• Perform other duties as assigned
