Engineering Shop Technician
at our location in Gastonia, North Carolina We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Shop Technician to join our dynamic team at Mann+Hummel. As an Engineering Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our engineering shop.
Main Tasks
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Shop Technician to join our dynamic team at Mann+Hummel. As an Engineering Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and manufacturing processes by providing technical assistance, operating machinery, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our engineering shop. Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment in the engineering shop
Follow technical specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate production
Assist engineers in the development of prototypes and experimental projects
Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and refine prototypes
Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality
Report any malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
Manage and organize materials and components in the shop
Track inventory levels and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishment
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly
Keep detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and shop activities
Document any changes made to prototypes or machinery
Report prototype orders
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in engineering or a related field is a plus
3-5 years' experience as Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a shop technician or similar role in a production environment
Required Skills:
Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of assembly tools and machinery
Strong understanding of engineering principles, the ability to read technical drawings, and measurement skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Proven ability to work with various software applications: Word processing and spreadsheet programs (MS Office)
Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a similar role
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with filtration products
Experience in prototyping is a plus
Proficiency in CNC machining parts
Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software
