Job Summary:
The RF Manufacturing Test Technician supports testing, tuning, and troubleshooting of complex RF and microwave assemblies. They bridge the gap between engineering and production by setting up test environments, calibrating equipment, performing data compiling, and verifying that hardware meets performance and design specifications. Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:
Familiarity with using Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, RF Sources, Noise Sources, and other RF & DC equipment.
Product Function:
Knowledge of basic operation and key functions of RF products such as amplifiers, mixers, attenuators, switches, phase shifters, VCO's, PLL's, frequency multipliers.
Testing:
Set-up, calibrate, andoperate test equipment to measure performance parameters like s-parameters, loss, gain, VSWR, noise figure, compression, harmonics, phase tracking, etc. on die (wafer), SMT style packages, connectorized and complex MCM assemblies.
Troubleshooting & Tuning:
Diagnose RF and DC circuits and perform tuning or adjustments.
Mechanical:
Simple hand soldering knowledge, assembly of breadboards, test fixtures and wiring harnesses, basic board-level rework.
Data & Documentation:
Review and maintenance of test data, documentation of anomalies, and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
Qualifications:
US Citizenship:
This role heavily supports defense, aerospace, and the telecommunications industries, U.S. Citizenship is required. The ability to obtain government security clearance may be required. •
Technical:
Strong understanding of DC theory and RF principles with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions/documentation. •
Personal:
An ability to work as an individual contributor, as well as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with engineering, management and other team members. A strong aptitude and interest in working with automated and manual test equipment.
Education:
High school diploma/GED required. A diploma from a vocational high school or technical diploma, associate's degree in electronics, or Military/Aerospace backgrounds are highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of bench-level experience working in the microwave electronics industry or a Military background with 3+ years' training and electronics experience.
Physical Requirements:
The RF Manufacturing Test Technician is expected to perform the following physical requirements daily for up to 8 to 10 hours: •
Stationary Position:
The ability to remain in a seated or standing position for extended periods, usually at a workstation in an ISO clean room. •
Manual Dexterity:
Frequent use of hands to handle, feel, or manipulate small tools and components such as microchips, packages, microscopes, and soldering materials while wearing PPE. •
Communication:
Clear speaking and active listening abilities are essential for productivity, face to face communication, and safety. •
Vision Requirements:
Close vision and ability to adjust focus are needed for inspecting small components utilizing a microscope. •
Mobility:
Occasional walking, bending, or stooping to reach materials while wearing gowns, masks, hairnets, and foot covering. •
Lifting:
Ability to lift, carry, or move objects, typically ranging from 10 to 25 pounds. •
Environmental Factors:
Primarily indoor manufacturing environments, with moderate noise levels.
