  • 3:00 PM (with flexibility during peak hours) SmartXhire is partnering with a leading technology and operations organization to hire a Production Equipment Technician in Brentwood, NY.
This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with experience supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining production equipment, hardware systems, and automated technology solutions. The Production Equipment Technician will be responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and supporting production operations to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and related systems Troubleshoot equipment failures and complete repairs to ensure operational uptime Respond to technical support requests and document service activities Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts usage, and equipment history Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, controls, hardware components, and production equipment systems Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware connected to production equipment Support equipment installation, relocation, and upgrades as needed Read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and troubleshooting documentation Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety requirements Follow established safety procedures and contribute to a collaborative team environment
QualificationsRequired:
High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience supporting, maintaining, or repairing production equipment, technical systems, or automated equipment Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hardware-related issues Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment issues Ability to lift, carry, and move 25+ lbs throughout the assigned shift Ability to stand for extended periods while performing job duties Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Technical or vocational training in electronics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, or related fields Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance tracking systems Experience supporting computer hardware or technology-connected equipment Experience working in a production, technical operations, or equipment support environment Why Consider This Opportunity?
