Monday-Thursday | 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Position Overview A growing automotive-component manufacturer in Hudson, Ohio is hiring dependable Manufacturing Production and Quality Operators. Multiple opportunities are available in automated inspection, manual inspection, finishing, and parts sorting. These positions support the production and quality of precision metal fasteners used by automotive customers. Responsibilities may include operating equipment, inspecting components, sorting accepted and rejected material, assembling finished parts, packaging and labeling products, and completing production documentation. Entry-level candidates with strong reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Previous manufacturing, machine-operation, inspection, sorting, assembly, warehouse, or packaging experience is preferred but not required for every opening. Available Positions Mectron Inspection Machine Operator Set up and operate automated Mectron inspection and sorting equipment. Load components into hoppers, feeders, and conveyors. Select approved part programs and monitor inspection results. Separate accepted, rejected, and suspect materials. Make approved adjustments and clear minor feeding issues or jams. Verify rejected parts and report recurring defects. Complete production counts, inspection records, and scrap documentation. Inspection Operator Visually and dimensionally inspect precision metal components. Identify cracks, damaged threads, burrs, incorrect dimensions, contamination, and other defects. Use or learn calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, plug gauges, and ring gauges. Compare parts against specifications, control plans, samples, and quality requirements. Record inspection results and maintain proper material traceability. Assist with containment, reinspection, sorting, and corrective-action activities. Finishing Operator Assemble small components and finished parts. Operate bending fixtures and presses to shape and install components. Use hand tools and basic inspection gauges. Complete required paperwork and production tracking. Use RF scanners for transactions and material tracking. Replace labels and ribbons on labeling equipment. Lubricate machinery and perform basic operator-level maintenance. Maintain production flow and meet daily output expectations. Sorting Operator Sort and inspect automotive fasteners and precision metal components. Identify damaged threads, cracks, chips, burrs, finish issues, deformation, contamination, and mixed parts. Separate accepted, rejected, rework, and suspect material. Count, weigh, package, and label finished components. Maintain lot identification and prevent different parts or materials from becoming mixed. Record inspected, accepted, rejected, and scrapped quantities. Assist with customer-return inspections, containment, and rework assignments. General Responsibilities Follow written work instructions, quality standards, and production procedures. Inspect products carefully and communicate defects or unusual conditions. Keep accepted and rejected material properly identified and separated. Package, count, weigh, and label completed components. Complete production, inspection, scrap, and quality records accurately. Load and unload parts from bins, totes, trays, conveyors, or production equipment. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Follow all PPE, safety, quality, and material-handling requirements. Meet production expectations without compromising quality. Support other production, inspection, packaging, and material-handling duties as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math, counting, and recordkeeping skills. Basic computer skills and ability to learn touchscreen controls or RF scanners. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn new equipment, inspection tools, and production processes. Ability to work overtime when required. Preferred Experience Manufacturing, production, assembly, sorting, inspection, warehouse, or packaging experience. Automotive fastener, machining, metal-forming, or stamping experience. Experience operating automated inspection, vision, laser, sorting, press, or packaging equipment. Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, plug gauges, ring gauges, or approved samples. Experience using RF scanners, counting scales, conveyors, or labeling equipment. Forklift or pallet-jack experience. Familiarity with production documentation, control plans, work orders, lot traceability, or nonconforming-material procedures. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, grip, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Some finishing assignments may occasionally require lifting up to 100 pounds. Ability to work safely around moving machinery, vibration, noise, and changing temperatures.
