Production Technician Responsibilities:
Prioritize and manage daily material movement in alignment with the production schedule to support efficient manufacturing operations, maintain product flow, and minimize production downtime
Complete yield calculations indicated based on RPO (released production order) and work instructions. Use the calculations to determine the amount of product and what product needs to be heated based on the production schedule
Ensure drums heat time does not exceed the allowable amounts by checking the drum labels for prior heating time, verify allowed heating time from work instructions and calculating remaining allowable heat time
Document how long each drum has been heated and calculate the remaining allowable heating time
Calculate how much product from the drum should be added to the filling tank to avoid excess material and reduce loss. The pourer is responsible for deciding the amount to add without supervisor confirmation
Assume accountability for accurate yield and heating time calculations, using strong attention to detail and decision-making to prevent significant product losses
Follow all applicable safety procedures when handling hot materials and hazardous substances
Monitor and maintain formula levels in tanks and hoppers based on equipment-specific minimum fill requirements to ensure timely replenishment, minimize product loss, and prevent short filling of tubes, jars, and sticks
Clean pump, dosing tray, kettles, tools and tanks when needed (wash, sanitize)
Use of stacker, power jack, drum tilt throughout the day (requires PIV training and certification)
Follow GMP's in the department
Fill proper Redzone, cleaning logbook and formula hours heat tracking
Utilize labels and redzone to confirm batched production for use to avoid production contamination
Maintain strong communication with your supervisor for daily activities by reporting shortages, drum running out of oven time, etc.
Report any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor
Report quality issues immediately to supervisor
Support training and development of other employees
Support supervisor to create and develop a culture that includes the following principles; Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Requirements for
Production Technician:
At least one year of experience in similar environment
Good communication skills
Basic math skills
Able to follow SOP for cleaning and operation of the equipment
