Job Summary

The Extrusion Technician is responsible for performing and maintaining the daily activities associated with a production line. This includes, but not limited to, housekeeping, safety, quality, maintaining production efficiencies, repair and maintenance and minimizing downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment.

Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to the production supervisor.

Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment, as needed.

Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance.

Maintain housekeeping of the facility.

Maintain and build job skills through company training programs.

Meet or exceed standard production efficiencies on all production lines.

Adhere to

ISO 9001

Quality certification requirements.

Completion of shift production and reporting paperwork.

Meet quality specifications for all products produced.

Troubleshoot process and mechanical problems and perform reports and adjustments to meet production needs, as required.

Maintain ability to operate various production lines and processes effectively.

Adhere to PLP product sampling schedule.

Perform tooling changeovers in an efficient manner.

Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by the supervisor.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Strong leadership, professionalism, and communication skills

Basic mathematical and organizational abilities

Knowledge of local shipping regulations and receiving procedures

Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOM) and inventory management practices

Understanding of company products

Ability to safely operate forklifts and other heavy equipment

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent, desired.

Mechanical troubleshooting and repair abilities.

Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within manufacturing environment.

Ability to operate heavy machinery.

Self-motivated and dependable

Punctual with good attendance.

Previous manufacturing machine operation or extrusion experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, to a height of 6 feet

Must be able to perform repetitive motion, such as walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, griping, and standing.

Clarity of vision and the ability to focus on a fast repetitive operation.

Utilize heavy equipment in a safe, skilled, and compliant manner.

Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot or cold) without climate control.

Regular use of hands, arms, and legs to handle and transport goods.

Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 12 consecutive hours.
