Summary of Position The Cell Lead coordinates team activities to meet production, quality, and scheduling targets. Responsibilities include preparing and closing shifts, coordinating with other Cell Leads, assigning and training Operators, monitoring productivity, providing necessary tools and resources, and completing start-up, shutdown, and work order changes. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, & Authority Monitor machine/assembly output, production rates, and scrap; document results and escalate issues to the Shift Manager. Complete required work order and production paperwork, including: o Start-up and line clearance verification o Production Cell Audit Checklist o Work order, material, label, and labor verification o Production records and customer-specific forms o Non-conforming product notifications o Return of product standards and submission of last shots Monitor visual product quality, work with Operators to identify issues, and escalate suspect parts for QA/metrology review. Assist with Operator training, placement, task assignments, and rotation based on skills and production needs. Ensure Operators have required tools, materials, and training; communicate additional training needs to MTS. Maintain safety and 5S standards within assigned work centers and report hazards or improvement opportunities. Follow the client's environmental, safety, quality, and operational policies. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Education, Credentials, & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Job Specifications Minimum 1 year of plastic injection molding manufacturing experience and completion of 12-week Operator onboarding. Ability to read and write English. Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce. Keen vision (20/20 corrected) and normal color perception. Proven good attendance record (less than 40 hours/year). Overtime may occasionally be required. Ability to stand for prolonged periods (4+ hours). Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Basic math and computer skills. Knowledge of injection molding processes and Operator skills. Understanding of client KPIs and how the role impacts performance. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks. Takes initiative and communicates information effectively. Detail-oriented, organized, adaptable, and flexible in a high-mix/high-variability environment. Supports a positive, respectful, and safe work environment.
