Job Description

As Cerebral Staffing , we are seeking a motivated, process-driven Weld Manufacturing Engineer to join our team supporting our client, John Deere , at their specialized production center in Thibodaux, LA . Manufacturing Engineer (Weld Operations)•John Deere Thibodaux This is a highly active, hands-on 1+ year contract opportunity paying up to $33/hr , including 1 week of PTO . Operating fully onsite from Day 1, you will provide critical technical support to the Weld Manufacturing Engineering department. You will be responsible for executing essential process controls, updating part routings, documenting detailed operator work instructions, and logging technical assembly metrics into SAP.
Position Details & Compensation Pay Rate:
Up to $33/hr (W2).
Location:
100% Onsite at John Deere Thibodaux (Thibodaux, LA).
Duration:
1+ Year contract assignment (With strong annual extension potential).
Plant overtime will be requested based on production surges. Candidates must be open to working 2nd shift (3:30 PM•3:00 AM) if requested by the plant. The worker would always be notified well in advance of a shift rotation.
Safety & PPE:
Metatarsal safety boots are strictly required on Day 1 . John Deere will provide all other mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE).

Core Responsibilities Process & Routing Maintenance:
Update and optimize technical manufacturing steps and routing structures for manufactured and fabricated weldments.
Technical Documentation:
Author, update, and release standardized operator work instructions, technical setup checklists, and visual quality manuals for manufacturing parts.
ERP Data Integrity:
Record, audit, and log daily production metrics, material adjustments, and manufacturing parameters accurately within SAP .
Print & Layout Interpretation:
Review, interpret, and translate complex blueprints, weld symbols, and design specifications into practical production procedures. Continuous Improvement & 5
S:
Support plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives, championing localized safety mandates and strict 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards within the weld cell footprint.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Communicate fluidly and effectively across shifting line cells, syncing data with production operators, supervisors, and cross-functional engineering leads.
Required Skills & Experience Technical Literacy:
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and extract dimensional data from complex engineering prints, weld drawings, and component specifications.
Computer Fundamentals:
Proficient utilizing computers, including basic data entry, spreadsheet navigation, and professional communication programs.
Collaborative Mindset:
Natural aptitude for team cohesion, fostering workplace trust, active listening, and executing instructions consistently.
Education & Industry Training:
High School Diploma or GED paired with 1 or more years of direct manufacturing experience and/or industrial training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. What Makes You Stand Out Prior professional or contract experience operating directly inside a John Deere production ecosystem or utilizing internal Deere process tools. Practical workspace experience troubleshooting, routing, or programming heavy structural welding cells, manual weld lines, or robotic automation systems.
