We seek an Extrusion Engineer to support the rapid growth of our manufacturing capabilities. The Extrusion Engineer applies fundamental aspects of chemistry, materials science, fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, process control and optimization, and general engineering principles to solve processing challenges and improve manufacturing quality and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on approach to operating machinery and strong communication within the Process Engineering team. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Technical assembly & disassembly of an extrusion lines Operating extruders and auxiliary equipment according to standard operating procedures Collaborating with Quality Assurance to continuously ensure products meet their specifications Maintain a clean & safe work environment Collecting and analyzing process measurements and maintaining detailed notes of observations Providing feedback and offering suggestions for process improvement Focusing on improving manufacturing metrics such as material yield, equipment utilization, and reject rate. Troubleshooting extrusion processes and rapidly communicating with Process Engineering team. Operating in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and prioritization of tasks. Job Requirements BS Engineering/Technical Degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Chemical, or Material Science Ability to use machines & tools using in Extrusion Process Lift 45lbs, climb a ladder up to 10ft, walk and stand during entire shift Work in a manufacturing environment Compounding Solutions, LLC Specialty Compounder for Medical / Industrial Plastics Industry 258 Goddard Rd, Lewiston, ME 04240
