senior pipeline engineer Wyomissing, PA 2 DAYS AGO 22747101 Summary Wyomissing, PA In-Person $55.00 - $65.00 per Hour 7 Years Experience Bachelor's degree No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Temporary/Seasonal Description Pipeline Engineer III Contract Position (6+ months) Travel Required. The Pipeline Engineer will be responsible for providing design and construction oversight of natural gas pipeline systems that support the safe, effective, and optimized operation of existing assets. Support the Company in areas such as risk assessment, data integration, anomaly evaluation, remediation programs, integrity program evaluation, cathodic protection testing, and cathodic protection design. Create and execute scoping documents for assessments methods such as ILI, CIS, ACVG, DCVG, and pressure testing. Provide technical and field support to Operations with pipeline assessments, evaluation, repair methods, cathodic protection system troubleshooting, purging, pressure tests, and hot taps. Serve as the project engineer for new projects and facility upgrades. This includes completing designs, specifying materials, providing calculations, completing job books, and providing field oversight. Perform calculations to measure the effect of outside forces on pipeline assets and provide guidance to Operations on how to proceed. This can include vehicle loading, blasting, soil loading, and ground subsidence. Communicate and enforce company requirements related to encroachments and outside forces. Serve as a liaison with third parties encroaching on rights of ways. Complete encroachment agreements and ensure company policies are adhered to.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline Minimum of 7 years experience Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, particularly
ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, ASME B31.8S, API
1104, and CFR Title 49 Parts 192 & 195. Familiarity with API standards and NACE standards desired. Fundamental knowledge of pipeline integrity threats and mechanisms, pipeline integrity assessment methods and respective capabilities and limitations, ability to interpret assessment and inspection results required. Working experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams, as built drawings, alignment sheets, construction records, pressure tests, cathodic protection data, and survey data. Experience in the design and operation of energy-related facilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; additional proficiency in AutoCAD and ArcGIS preferred Think, concentrate and focus over long periods of time Ability to read and write complex documents.
