Position Overview The Beverage Packaging Innovation Center team, located in Kennesaw, Georgia, has an opportunity to participate in our summer 2027 co-op program. The team is seeking an engineering co-op that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. This role is responsible for supporting hands-on engineering projects related to pilot line equipment, tooling, test methods, and process improvement. The co-op will assist with technical documentation, data collection and analysis, experimental testing, and practical problem-solving in an R&D environment, with specific project assignments based on business needs and the candidate's interests and skill set. Responsibilities Support hands-on engineering projects related to pilot line equipment, tooling, test methods, and process improvement. Assist with the development, review, and organization of technical documentation, drawings, equipment information, and related project materials. Participate in data collection, statistical analysis, experimental trials, and validation activities to support engineering decision-making. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional team members to troubleshoot problems, evaluate options, and implement practical solutions. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, organization, and standardization within an R&D pilot line environment. Minimum qualifications Enrolled in an accredited 4-year university pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, or a related technical field. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Ability to work safely in hands-on, industrial, laboratory, or pilot-scale environments. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preferred qualifications Mechanically inclined with an interest in equipment, tooling, manufacturing, or hands-on problem solving. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, organized work. Experience or interest in technical drawing, CAD, equipment documentation, or bill of materials development. Experience or interest in data analysis, statistics, experimental design, or test method development. Curiosity about manufacturing processes, R&D testing, product development, or continuous improvement. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with engineers, technicians, and project stakeholders. Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
