Job Description

Job Summary The Mechanical Data Engineer & CAD/BOM Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of engineering data throughout the product lifecycle. This role manages CAD files, Bills of Material (BOMs), item masters, engineering releases, and ERP data to ensure accurate information is available to Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Scheduling, Inventory Control, Warranty, and Customer Service. The position supports design teams by maintaining configuration control, data accuracy, document management, and continuous improvement of engineering processes and systems. Responsibilities Create, maintain, and validate Bills of Material (BOMs) for new and existing products.

Create and manage part numbers, item masters, descriptions, and related ERP data. Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) accurately and ontime. Maintain CAD file structure, metadata, revision control, and document organization. Support Autodesk Inventor, Vault/PDM, and ERP data alignment where applicable. Coordinate engineering releases with Purchasing, Production, Scheduling, Inventory Control, Warranty, andCustomer Service. Review BOM accuracy before release to reduce production issues, purchasing errors, and rework. Maintain engineering documentation, data standards, naming conventions, and process instructions. Support product configuration management across brands, series, layouts, and model-year changes. Identify opportunities to improve engineering data processes, templates, and automation workflows. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, CAD Technology, orrelated field; equivalent experience will be considered. Experience working with BOM structures, part numbers, item masters, and engineering release processes. Working knowledge of CAD systems, preferably Autodesk Inventor. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manage large amounts of technical data. High attention to detail with strong follow-through on data accuracy and documentation quality. Ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Scheduling, Inventory Control, Warranty, and Customer Service teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Autodesk Vault, PDM, PLM, or similar engineering data management systems. Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing item setup processes. Understanding of revision control, engineering change management, and product configuration control. Experience in marine, RV, automotive, manufacturing, or similar product development environments. Ability to support process improvement, data cleanup, workflow standardization, and automation initiatives.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
