CAD Draftsman/Mechanical/Architectural Design Engineer MJM Fabrication is currently seeking a CAD Draftsman/ Mechanical/Architectural Design Engineer to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to join a great team of experienced professionals to work on truly one-of-kind productions in theater, broadcast television, architectural millwork, themed environments, museum exhibits, and much more. We are a custom fabricator, not a manufacturer. This means that every project is different, you need to have thought in your design process as well as the ability to think on your feet when things need to change. In this position you will be designing elements that use wood, metal, plastics, fabrics, and electronics that all come together to form high end finished products. MJM is a start up company that is growing at a fast pace. In this position you will have the ability to help with this growth and lay the foundation for the engineering department and the company.

Responsibilities:

• Create detailed drawings that clearly explain design intent and build process.
• Specify materials, hardware, finish process.
• Work with Project Managers, department heads, and fellow design engineers to develop the best path to completion.
• Effective communication skills to interact with co-workers, customers, vendors, and shop personnel.

Requirements:

• 2+ years' experience
• A good understanding of fabrication with both hand tools and CNC equipment
• Knowledge of steel fabrication: cutting, welding, drilling, machining, etc...
• Knowledge of wood fabrication: milling, joining, molding, etc...
• CAD skills: o 2D - AutoCAD, fabrication drawings, layout drawings, CNC file prep o 3D -

Creo, Inventor, SolidWorks, Fusion:

part & assembly modeling, top-down design, surfacing, large assembly management

• Mechanical aptitude
• Willingness to learn.
• The drive to get the job done!

Pay:

$30.00 - $50.00 per hour
