Our products are designed and engineered at our corporate headquarters — and we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who shares our commitment to integrating leading-edge technology, precision design, and high-quality products. Position Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who can independently manage multiple design projects from initial concept through to production release. This role requires hands-on design proficiency, creative thinking, and strong technical expertise. The ideal candidate will take ownership of mechanical design tasks, working closely with the Product Development Manager to deliver robust and innovative lighting solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead mechanical design efforts for new and existing lighting products, including housings, mounts, and internal mechanisms Participate in early-stage conceptual brainstorming and translate ideas into functional, manufacturable designs Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and Fusion 360 Print 3D parts to verify design conception. Specify materials, components, and manufacturing processes appropriate for product application and cost targets Conduct testing and validation of prototypes to ensure performance, durability, and compliance with internal and industry standards Work with external vendors to support design for manufacturability, tooling, and production readiness Maintain documentation and revision control throughout the product lifecycle Troubleshoot mechanical / technical issues and contribute to continuous product improvement Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs for internal and external use requirements Requirements Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design and product development Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings Strong understanding of mechanical systems (gears, bearings, etc.), materials (plastics, rubbers, metals), and manufacturing methods (injection molding and die casting) Ability to manage priorities independently and communicate effectively with Project Manager Understanding of environmental and performance testing standards Hands-on prototyping, 3D printing and testing experience Knowledge and experience with electronics and electrical components is preferred.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
