Kane Partners has been retained by a premiere manufacturer of large-scale industrial machinery to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Penndel, PA. Working under general direction with moderate supervision, this role focuses on designing and detailing standard and custom heavy industrial equipment. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, expertise in 3D CAD modeling, and a proven track record of developing mechanical powertrain systems, heavy fabricated weldments, and precision-machined components from concept through vendor sourcing and manufacturing support. Key Responsibilities • 3
D Mechanical Design:
Design and detail complex mechanical components and multi-axis industrial machinery in Autodesk Inventor (managed within Inventor Vault) in accordance with department design guidelines. •
Perform mechanical system analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and acoustic performance. •
Electro-Mechanical & Fluid Integration:
Analyze and specify electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-hydraulic system components. •
Manufacturing Documentation:
Develop complete, production-ready manufacturing drawings and schematics adhering to applicable industry standards. •
Vendor & Supply Chain Interface:
Collaborate with external suppliers and machine shops for component selection, custom fabrication, and assembly support. •
Project Consultation:
Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and performance requirements to evaluate design feasibility, cost, and maintainability. •
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Project Managers, Systems Engineers, and clients to align on project requirements, establish operating procedures, and resolve system malfunctions.
Qualifications & Requirements Role Qualifications & Essential Skills:

Technical Aptitude:
Strong mechanical foundation with a deep understanding of mechanical powertrain assemblies, structural fabrications, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems. •
CAD Proficiency:
Advanced 3D CAD modeling skills in Autodesk Inventor paired with experience using Inventor Vault. •
Proposal & Spec Analysis:
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex blueprints, customer design specifications, and technical reports. •
Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong time management, self-motivation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with clients, engineering management, and shop-floor personnel.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related engineering discipline. •
Experience:
5+ years of mechanical design experience focusing on continuous-duty, multi-axis industrial equipment. •
Automation Exposure:
Prior exposure to industrial robotics, motion control, or automated manufacturing systems.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
