Job Description

Mechanical Design Engineer Desired Traits:
Dynamic, Accountable, Returns-Driven, Integrity, Commercial What is a Mechanical Design Engineer? The Mechanical Design Engineer will contribute to the design, analysis, and testing of downhole tools and equipment. In this role, you will: Create and modify part drawings and models in SolidWorks to execute engineering projects Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop innovative downhole tools and components Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives Conduct engineering calculations and analysis to ensure tool performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards Develop testing procedures and equipment under guidance of senior engineers Assist in prototyping, testing, and validating designs in laboratory and field environments Prepare and revise engineering documentation for approval Review of domestic and international orders for engineering and quality requirements Support manufacturing and field applications as requested May be required to travel to field locations 1-3 days at a time, as needed (must possess a valid driver's license and meet the company driver requirement to operate a company vehicle while traveling) Perform other duties as assigned
Required and Preferred Experience:
Proficient working knowledge in SolidWorks Innovative mindset with ability to imagine new ways of solving customer issues Interpret a variety of technical instructions in a mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for hands-on design and engineering Basic understanding of oil and gas industry is preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle, or feel Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, reach with hands and arms Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.) Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and working with explosives No special vision requirements Quiet to loud work environment
Education:
