Job Description

Piping Designer - Decatur, IL This is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt level position located on-site at our operation in Decatur, IL. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented mid-level Piping Designer to join our dynamic Engineering Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience to grow their skills and build a career in CAD design and drafting. The mid-Level Piping Designer will assist in the creation and modification of detailed 2D and 3D drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software as well as collect field data as needed. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers and other team members to produce accurate and high-quality design documents. This individual will continually strive to find new and better solutions to CAD drafting and modeling challenges. Job Responsibilities Execute project tasks under the direction of the Project Manager and Project Engineer Develop CAD deliverables per requirements and specifications, and ensure that they are complete and accurate; the deliverables include but are not limited to: 2D drawings, 3D models, piping isometrics, P&ID & PFD's Develop skills to read and interpret design drawings Assist with field work, such as information gathering, sketching piping for P&IDs, or laser scanning Responsible for accurate and timely project file management (CAD files, vendor files, emails, etc.) and dissemination of project information Provide meaningful feedback to project teams, and CAD Manager to help the CAD team improve performance Required Qualifications 2+ years of professional work experience in a related field Working knowledge in "AutoCAD" CAD or equivalent CAD applications Proficient in both 2D drafting and 3D modeling techniques Basic understanding of good engineering, design, and architectural practices Strong attention to detail Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes Ability to work independently once project requirements are understood Preferred Qualifications Associates degree or Diploma from recognized technical school in AutoCAD Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD Inventor Experience with
ASME B31.3

112529BR "AJCIND" Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
