Job Description

Job Description GRW is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineer to support daily construction operations on a major geotechnical project in Utah. This position is ideal for a recent graduate, or early-career professional in construction, engineering, or project management who is looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and Safety Team to support project execution through quality control, document control, scheduling, cost tracking, field inspections, and general project administration. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, eager to learn, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Quality Control / Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Verify work is completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and client requirements. Participate in inspections, testing activities, and quality audits. Assist in tracking deficiencies, corrective actions, and close-out documentation. Support turnover package preparation and project completion documentation. Document Control Maintain project records, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Ensure field personnel are working from current revisions of drawings and documents. Track Requests for Information (RFIs), site instructions, field reports, inspection records, and submittals. Assist with preparation and submission of daily, weekly, and monthly project reporting. Organize and maintain electronic and hard-copy project files. Scheduling & Progress Tracking Assist with short-term planning and look-ahead scheduling activities. Assist with field team scheduling Identify potential schedule impacts, delays, and constraints and communicate them to project leadership. Assist with preparation of progress reports and schedule status updates. Cost Control Support Assist with tracking labor, equipment, and material quantities. Support daily productivity reporting and progress measurement. Assist project management with quantity tracking and change management documentation. Support preparation of progress claims and subcontractor tracking. Safety Support Conduct routine site safety inspections and observations. Ensure compliance with OSHA & client safety requirements Assist in monitoring compliance with company safety policies and site-specific requirements. Participate in toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and hazard assessments. Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions. Promote a strong safety culture and safe work practices throughout the project. General Site Support Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project management personnel. Perform field measurements and site verification as required. Support project commissioning and turnover activities. Attend project meetings and assist with action item tracking and follow-up. Carry out additional duties as assigned by project leadership. Qualifications Required Working on or completed Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related field. Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Valid Driver's License. Preferred Previous experience supporting heavy civil, geotechnical, mining, rockfall mitigation, or industrial construction projects. Familiarity with QA/QC processes and construction documentation. Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations. Working Conditions Support construction activities in steep terrain and remote project environments. Coordinate logistics, equipment movements, and material deliveries. Work closely with rope access and geotechnical crews. Pay:
