We are a leading rubber lining company specializing in corrosion-resistant systems for rail industry. We are an Association of American Railroads-certified shop, with core expertise in rubber lining, lining inspections, and railcar lining repair. Known for engineering expertise, quality execution, and long-term customer partnerships, Abtrex helps customers extend asset life, improve safety, and reduce total cost of ownership. We are currently seeking a Lining Inspector to join our team in Hearne, Texas.
Responsibilities:
Perform in-house lining and coating inspections, including NDT methods (e.g., spark testing, durometer hardness, adhesion testing) Inspect lining removal, repairs, and new applications (pre- and post-cure), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company standards Assure all cars leaving the facility are completed to the full expectation of the customer and regulatory agencies Document inspection results and maintain required certifications and calibration records Coordinate inspection schedules with plant operations to support workflow and production targets Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve product consistency and resolve quality issues Participate in root-cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions Support safety, environmental, and quality policies, ensuring a safe and compliant workplace Assist with training and mentoring team members as needed Contribute to internal and external audits Qualificationsℜquirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in rubber linings and coatings or within a railcar repair environment NDT Level II certification, hands-on Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience, or willingness to obtain certification CIP Level I or II certification, or willingness to obtain Must be willing to travel High school or GED degree. Experience may be substituted for formal education Supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of the Federal Railroad Administration's regulations governing the inspection and test of rail cars, and the Association of American Railroads Interchange Rule Strong organizational and time management skills Leadership skills preferred Written and oral communication skills Computer proficiency Valid TX drivers license Hired applicants must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
