Objective:

The PSM Engineer is responsible for implementing and continually improving Daikin's Process Safety Management Program. The PSM Engineer will assist in establishing and promoting safe and healthy working conditions and effective control measures, to assure a safe work environment, and full compliance with all corporate, as well as, OSHA policies, procedures and regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with some emphasis in industrial safety programs, or equivalent related industrial experience. Must be capable of working with people at all levels and effectively conducting safety training for same.

Focus on the Customer Initiative and Continuous Improvement Job Knowledge and Job Quality Leadership Reliability Responsible Care - Safety, Health, Environment, and Security.

Physical Demands:

This team member must be able to walk several miles per day, climb stairs, enter confined spaces, and be physically able to serve on Daikin America's Emergency Team.

Essential Functions:

Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job. The PSM Engineer must function as the overall leader at Daikin Decatur in complying with

OSHA PSM

regulations. Revise Process Safety Management Manual procedures. Revise Process Safety Information for all areas. Facilitate, lead and/or participate in Process Safety Analyses. Provide Process Safety review of various Capital Projects. Coordinate with Maintenance on Mechanical Integrity issues. Review and approve Management of Change (MOC) forms Conduct Pre Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSR) to close out MOCs. Assist with Incident Investigations in the plant. Conduct internal audits on the PSM Program. Schedule external audits of the PSM Program by an independent company, as required. Support the Responsible Care Management System per American Chemistry Council (ACC) guidelines. Complete small capital projects to support the Safety Department. Serve as a safety resource for the plant. Additional assignments as deemed necessary by management.
