Job Description
Job Overview The Engineering Manager provides strategic and technical leadership to the Engineering Department by developing people, standardizing engineering processes, preserving institutional knowledge, and aligning efforts with the company's operational and business objectives. This role oversees the day-to-day activities of the engineering team while driving continuous improvement, product development, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities Technical Leadership Serve as the senior mechanical engineering resource Provide guidance on complex engineering challenges Oversee product design, validation, and engineering changes Ensure sound engineering principles and regulatory compliance are followed People Leadership Coach, mentor, and develop engineers Conduct performance evaluations and establish development plans Build future technical leaders within the department Foster accountability, collaboration, and engagement Engineering Operations Standardize engineering documentation and work processes Improve engineering change management and recordkeeping Develop engineering KPI's and workload prioritization Ensure resources are effectively allocated across projects Continuous Improvement Partner with Manufacturing to improve processes, equipment, and productivity Support Lean initiatives and problem-solving efforts Drive design improvements that improve manufacturability and reduce costs Strategic Planning Preserve institutional knowledge through documentation and training Build engineering capabilities in the Nuclear product line Develop long-term engineering organization and staffing strategy Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (strongly preferred) Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred 7-10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within manufacturing Previous experience leading engineering teams, mentoring engineers, and managing performance Experience supporting both product development and manufacturing engineering Knowledge of hydraulics or hydraulic cylinders (strongly preferred) Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments; Nuclear industry experience is highly desirable Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills Experience implementing engineering documentation standards, change management, and knowledge management systems Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills Join us to lead pioneering projects at the forefront of hydraulic cylinder technology and nuclear activation systems! Pay:
$115,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
