Insight Global is looking for an Engineer I to work fully in office in Maitland, FL (North Orlando, FL area) with interest in learning the electrical power distribution & utilities engineering industry. This a 4 month contract-to-hire, meaning you will be converted full time (which includes PTO, Holiday Pay, etc.) after 4 months! Please note, this role is for post-graduation with a completed ABET Accredited Bachelors Degree. Must be able to work 40 hours a week, typical daytime office hours, and fully in office in Maitland, FL.
THIS IS NOT PART TIME OR HYBIRD/REMOTE, AND NOT AN INTERNSHIP.
Job Summary:
Engineer I is an entry-level engineering role that provides hands-on experience solving technical challenges while working alongside experienced professionals. In this position, you will support electric utility projects and gain exposure to the design, planning, and engineering processes behind power distribution infrastructure. Supporting electric utility distribution projects alongside senior engineer Reviewing engineering designs, drawings, and construction standards Performing calculations, technical analyses, and research to support engineering solutions Preparing reports, sketches, documentation, and project correspondence Learning utility distribution standards, power systems, and project management fundamentals
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to work 40 hours a week, typical daytime hours (such as M-F 8am-5pm) in Maitland, FL Completed Bachelors Degree in any Engineering field of study, from an ABET accredited Engineering program Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation (own vehicle preferred) Minimum 0-2 years of relevant professional, internship, or undergraduate coursework experience, related to Electrical/Mechanical/Civil or similar Engineering or similar is a plus, but not required Experience using AutoCAD, Solidworks, or similar CAD design tool preferred - will be trained on company specific software! Having an interest in learning about the power distribution & utilities design engineering industry utility terminology (transformers, kilowatts, voltages, transmission, etc.) - will be trained on industry specific terminology!
