The person will manage system-level interfaces among energy-management and battery-management technologies, controls, sensors, software, and electronic hardware. This is a true systems engineering position—not primarily PCB layout or circuit design. Primary Responsibilities Define, allocate, and manage system and customer requirements across electrical, software, mechanical, and supporting engineering teams. Create and evaluate complex electronic/battery system architectures, interfaces, and engineering trade-offs. Lead technical integration of battery supervisory hardware/software, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and Energy Management Systems (EMS). Guide system configuration, component selection, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary design reviews. Lead system safety, reliability, risk-management analysis, and integration/validation planning. Provide technical input to project proposals, cost/schedule estimates, technology reviews, and next-generation system concepts. Required Qualifications 10+ years of relevant systems engineering / complex electrical-system architecture and design experience; must demonstrate true system-level ownership. Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering; another engineering bachelor's is acceptable with substantial systems engineering experience. Experience specifying system requirements, allocating requirements to subsystems, evaluating architectures, and leading hardware/software integration. Substantive familiarity with electronic systems involving circuits, PCBs, power supplies, and/or power electronics—not merely facilities or high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Experience with controls, sensors, software interfaces, and cross-functional engineering teams. Ability to work full-time onsite in Cockeysville, Maryland, with no hybrid or remote arrangement. Highly Relevant / Preferred Experience Battery systems, battery supervisory systems, BMS / EMS interface integration, or embedded electronic power products. Aerospace/defense electronic products, aviation certification exposure, system safety and reliability engineering. Simulink, model-based design, Visio, system modeling, simulation, or electronic-prototype integration. Technical leadership through architecture review, interface definition, system trade studies, risk analysis, and product development.
