Full-Time Position Summary Perfect Power is seeking a highly motivated Field Engineer to support the construction and commissioning of one of our new utility-scale solar farm projects in Texas. The Field Engineer will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The ideal candidate will have previous experience supporting utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction projects and possess strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. This position requires a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys solving field challenges while working closely with project management, engineering teams, subcontractors, and clients. Responsibilities align with common utility-scale solar field engineering practices, including construction oversight, RFI management, quality assurance, schedule coordination, and commissioning support. Essential Responsibilities Provide daily field engineering support for utility-scale solar construction activities. Monitor work to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, engineering standards, and contract requirements. Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and owners to resolve technical issues. Review construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents for accuracy and constructability. Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, field change documentation, and punch lists. Perform field inspections and verify quality workmanship throughout project execution. Assist with material tracking, inventory verification, and equipment deliveries. Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or construction conflicts.
Support installation activities involving:
Solar PV modules Single-axis tracker systems Inverters DC collection systems Medium-voltage collection systems Underground utilities Assist with commissioning activities, system testing, energization, and project turnover. Document daily construction progress and prepare engineering reports. Promote a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards. Participate in contractor coordination meetings and provide technical recommendations. Support project closeout activities, including as-built documentation and final quality inspections. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. 2-5 years of construction or field engineering experience. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work extended hours and travel as required. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience on utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects. Experience with EPC construction environments.
Knowledge of:
Solar PV systems Tracker systems Inverters Medium-voltage electrical systems NEC and applicable electrical codes Experience managing RFIs, NCRs, change orders, and commissioning documentation. Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Procore. OSHA 30 certification. First Aid/CPR certification. EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions, including heat, wind, and rain. Ability to walk long distances across active construction sites. Ability to climb ladders and work around heavy equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Pay:
$100,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
