We currently have a number of diverse projects underway, working across the public & private sector. The Survey Technician will be producing accurate, high-quality survey and civil drawings while working closely with survey and engineering staff, with the opportunity to grow into a project and staff management role.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

Draft CAD plans for topographic, boundary and A.L.T.A. surveys under the direction of licensed staff. Prepare Record of Surveys, Short Plats, Long Plats, Final Plats, Final Condominium Plats, Boundary Line Agreements, Boundary Line Adjustments, easement exhibits, and other documents required for project completion. Process field data and incorporate survey crew notes, points, and codes into working drawings. Assist with property research including deeds, easements, utilities, local by-laws and regulations, zoning data, assessor's data and plans, FEMA and other data relevant to a project. Perform boundary and topographic calculations to support drafting work. Apply appropriate standards, manuals, guidelines, and firm drafting conventions consistently across projects. Coordinate with field crews and project managers to resolve drafting questions and ensure plans reflect current project status. Maintain organized project files, drawing sets, and revision histories. Support quality control review of drawings prior to submittal or stamping by licensed staff. As experience grows, assist in training and mentoring junior drafters, and take on increasing responsibility for coordinating drafting workflow and deadlines across projects. Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal requirements as they pertain to survey and civil drawings.

Qualifications:

Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with other survey/civil drafting software a plus. 2-5 years of CAD drafting experience in land surveying, civil engineering, or a related field. Working knowledge of local jurisdictions. Ability to read and interpret field notes, legal descriptions, deeds, and plats. Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, clean drawings under deadline pressure. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interest in and aptitude for taking on project coordination and staff mentorship responsibilities over time. Associate's degree or certificate in drafting, CAD technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Occasional field visits may be required. Pay:
