Job Description

Survey Party ChiefLocation:
Post Falls, IDJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead a field survey crew performing boundary, topographical, ALTA, route, and construction surveys for public and private clients. This position will be responsible for operating and maintaining survey equipment, collecting field data, maintaining accurate field notes, performing field calculations, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and office personnel.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead a field survey crew performing boundary, topographical, ALTA, route, and construction surveys
  • Apply professional surveying practices and procedures
  • Interpret and apply state and federal laws affecting land surveying and property boundaries
  • Operate and maintain GPS, Total Stations, electronic and automatic levels, data collectors, and other surveying instruments
  • Perform control, boundary, and construction calculations in the field
  • Collect and verify accurate field data and maintain detailed field notes
  • Thoroughly inspect and check field notes, electronic data collection files, computation sheets, and other deliverables for accuracy and completeness
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with construction contractors, private clients, and office personnel
  • Assist with survey equipment maintenance, copying, and filing of survey data.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of field experience in boundary and construction surveying
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency operating and maintaining GPS, Total Stations, electronic/automatic levels, data collectors, and other surveying equipment
  • Ability to perform field calculations and verify the accuracy of completed work
  • Ability to travel out of town as needed
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to carry and operate survey equipment in rough terrain and perform physically demanding, labor-intensive work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • L.S.I.T. certification
  • Working knowledge of Topcon equipment
  • Working knowledge of GPS equipment.
