We're seeking a motivated Layout & Survey Professional to lead and continue developing our Layout & Surveying Department. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical role while working alongside an experienced team on meaningful construction projects throughout Central Illinois. Job Overview We are a heavy highway construction company specializing in asphalt paving, underground utilities, earthwork, and concrete flat work. We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable professional to lead our Layout & Surveying Department. This position supports projects both in the field and in the office by managing survey data, loading and maintaining work files, and providing accurate layout & surveying services that keep projects on schedule and built to plan. Duties Perform construction layout and surveying for highway and heavy construction projects Support field teams with staking, measurements, and verification of alignment/grades Load, organize, and manage survey/design files and coordinate with ongoing work Prepare, update, and maintain work files to support production schedules Assist in ensuring projects meet plans, specifications, and tolerance requirements Coordinate with project management/superintendents and communicate site measurements clearly Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in construction surveying and layout (heavy highway experience preferred) Ability to read and understand plans, profiles, and construction drawings Proficiency using surveying/layout technology (e.g., total station/RTK/GPS, software/tools) Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to travel to job sites and work in outdoor conditions Strong organizational skills for managing office and field file workflows Valid driver's license (and willingness to work on jobsites) Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs.
