Job Description

Crescent Moon Land Surveying, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Survey Drafter / CAD Drafter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD and an understanding of surveying, construction drawings, and drafting standards. This position will primarily support our Homes Department by preparing accurate plot plans, final as-built surveys, and other survey-related drawings . The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, pay close attention to detail, and efficiently complete drawings while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Pay will be based on experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and overall drafting ability. Overtime opportunities are available based on workload and proficiency. Duties & Responsibilities Prepare detailed 2D survey drawings, plot plans, and final as-built surveys using AutoCAD. Review field information, survey data, plans, and other documents to prepare accurate drawings. Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and meet applicable project requirements. Revise drawings based on field information, surveyor review, client requests, or changes to project plans. Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project files. Review plans and drawings for accuracy and consistency before completion. Research and stay up to date on applicable county regulations, setback requirements, flood zones, and other local requirements . Communicate with field crews, surveyors, project managers, and other office personnel as needed. Manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines. Assist with other drafting and CAD-related tasks as needed. Qualifications Proficiency in AutoCAD . Previous experience with survey drafting, construction drawings, or related drafting work preferred. Understanding of basic surveying and construction terminology preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and interpret survey information, plans, and construction documents. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Ability to learn and apply county-specific requirements and standards. Willingness to learn company-specific drafting procedures and standards. Experience & Compensation Experience and AutoCAD proficiency will be considered when determining starting pay. Candidates with strong surveying, CAD, and as-built drafting experience may qualify for a higher starting rate. Overtime opportunities are available depending on workload, performance, and proficiency. Preferred Experience Survey drafting Plot plan preparation Final as-built surveys Residential construction plans Civil or land development drafting Carlson or other surveying/CAD software Knowledge of local county requirements and setbacks
