The incumbent will also support the bureau in developing and implementing various sustainability programs at OPRHP. Work may fall within the following areas:
  • Waste handling & reporting
  • Refrigerant management
  • Single use plastic elimination
  • Reduced mowing
  • Hydration stations
Job Duties:
Program Development and Coordination:
  • Conduct research to aid the creation and implementation of sustainability programs.
  • Create & gather sustainability related documents, guidance, and materials.
  • Coordinate with park managers and regional staff to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations.
Program Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the Sustainable Operations unit and other bureaus to develop and implement green purchasing and broader sustainability programs across the agency.
  • Provide advice and support to facility managers and regional staff to aid the implementation of sustainability programs.
  • Develop educational resources to promote green purchasing tools.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
  • Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of sustainability programs and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on sustainability metrics and projects for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and regularly review green purchasing databases, contracts, and preferred source offerings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
  • Bachelors or Graduate degree in environmental policy, conservation, engineering, sustainability, or similar discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point).
