Privately owned and in business for 98 years, Dicalite operates 16 facilities across North America and Europe. Its fully integrated network includes five mines and twelve refining, processing, and packaging facilities supporting a multi-mineral platform of perlite, vermiculite, and diatomaceous earth. Job Summary The Operations Transformation Engineer Leader helps transform Dicalite's Enoree operation into a modern, data-driven, and technology-enabled manufacturing site. This high-responsibility, plant-based role improves process performance, deploys practical technology, builds operating dashboards, identifies cost savings, and leads continuous improvement projects. The position works closely with operators, maintenance, engineering, quality, site leadership, and senior company leaders to create measurable improvements in safety, reliability, quality, throughput, and cost. Primary Responsibilities Identify and execute productivity, yield, recovery, throughput, reliability, and cost-reduction projects. Analyze process bottlenecks and develop practical solutions with site teams. Support capital projects, debottlenecking initiatives, and equipment reliability improvements. Develop plant dashboards, KPI systems, and real-time visibility tools. Evaluate opportunities for sensors, data collection, automation, predictive maintenance, and AI-enabled workflows. Translate operational problems into practical digital tools that improve decisions and accountability. Lead cross-functional improvement teams involving operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering. Communicate project progress, obstacles, and financial impact to site and senior leadership. Build trust on the plant floor through visible, practical, and respectful collaboration. Build financial cases for improvement projects and track verified savings. Prioritize actions based on safety, reliability, customer impact, cost savings, and EBITDA contribution. Create repeatable improvement practices that can be scaled across other Dicalite sites. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial, mining, manufacturing, electrical, or a related engineering discipline; an operations technology, data analytics, or similar technical background may also be considered. Zero to three years of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, plant assignments, manufacturing projects, analytics projects, or continuous improvement work. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn industrial processes and equipment. Ability to work on-site at the Enoree facility and build effective working relationships in an operational environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities, take ownership, and follow projects through implementation. Proficiency with common computer applications and willingness to learn dashboards, analytics, automation, and AI tools. Strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience or demonstrated interest in manufacturing, mining, process industries, industrial automation, analytics, or operational transformation. Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, process controls, data collection systems, or continuous improvement projects. Familiarity with project financial analysis, verified savings, or business-case development. Experience presenting technical or operational recommendations to plant teams or leadership. Working Conditions Work is performed in a mineral mining and processing facility, including office, outdoor, and industrial processing areas. Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, wet surfaces, moving equipment, and elevated work areas. Frequent standing and walking, including over rough or uneven terrain, with occasional bending, kneeling, squatting, and stair or ladder climbing. Must wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all site safety requirements. Regular on-site attendance is required.
