full-time About Us Applied Sciences, a Parsons company, is an engineering and consulting firm providing services in water resources, civil engineering, environmental sciences, construction management, program management, and infrastructure support. We work collaboratively with public agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders to deliver practical and sustainable solutions. Position Summary We are seeking a Water Resources / Stormwater Engineer with 3+ years of experience in stormwater management, drainage analysis, and water resources engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, permitting, and the preparation of engineering reports and design documents. This is a full-time, hybrid position offering the opportunity to support a variety of public-sector projects while working closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. We are seeking Florida-based professionals with local knowledge of permitting, regulatory coordination, and project delivery practices to support our clients and projects throughout the state.
Desired Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Perform water resources planning and design projects for public-sector clients. Manage client relationships throughout project lifecycles, including progress meetings, to ensure project goals, schedules, and deadlines are met. Prepare technical analyses, engineering reports, cost estimates, permit applications, and support project documentation. Develop and review hydrologic and hydraulic models at both local and watershed scales. Evaluate Best Management Practice (BMP) alternatives and provide technical recommendations. Prepare or oversee the preparation of final plans and design reports for regulatory approval. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and support compliance with applicable permitting requirements. Education and Licensure (Minimum Required) B.S. or M.S. in Engineering (preferably Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources) P.E License is required. Experience (Minimum Required) A minimum of 3+ years in water resources related work. Experience with H&H models such as EPA SWMM, XP-SWMM, ICPR/Stormwise, HEC-HMS, and/or HEC-RAS. Experience with
ESRI GIS
software. Experience with stormwater permitting, drainage design, or site development projects. Other Desired Qualifications Proficiency with ArcHydro Tools. Experience with GIS and AutoCAD. Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral). Ability to work in a team environment.
