About Our Client Our Client is a multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, and construction consulting firm with more than 30 years of experience delivering innovative infrastructure solutions for public and private sector clients. Their expertise spans civil engineering, transportation, water resources, utilities, environmental services, and design-build project delivery. They are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join their growing Water Resources team. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful municipal, state, and federal infrastructure projects involving stormwater management, water distribution, wastewater collection, and sustainable water resource solutions. Position Summary The Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for the planning, analysis, design, and management of water resources and utility infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, drainage design, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and coordination with public agencies. This role requires strong technical expertise, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to deliver innovative engineering solutions from concept through construction. Essential Responsibilities Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for municipal and infrastructure projects. Design stormwater conveyance systems, detention/retention ponds, culverts, channels, and drainage improvements. Prepare engineering calculations, drainage reports, technical memorandums, and design documentation. Design water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and utility infrastructure improvements. Support planning and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Develop erosion and sediment control plans. Perform watershed studies and floodplain evaluations. Prepare construction plans, specifications, and quantity estimates. Coordinate project designs with civil, transportation, structural, environmental, and construction teams. Assist with permitting through local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Participate in project meetings with clients, municipalities, and regulatory officials. Provide engineering support during construction, including reviewing RFIs, shop drawings, and contractor submittals. Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control reviews. Mentor junior engineers and technical staff as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering. Minimum 3+ years of Water Resources or Civil Engineering experience. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe. Experience with stormwater management and utility infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and municipal infrastructure design. Knowledge of local, state, and federal engineering standards. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
