The company is headquartered in Hughson, California. Role Description The Project Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Hughson, CA. This position supports project financials, including tracking costs, preparing and reviewing invoices, monitoring budgets, and assisting with project billing and revenue recognition. The role involves processing and reconciling job cost data, supporting month-end close activities, and maintaining accurate records in accounting and project management systems. The Project Accountant collaborates with project managers, field teams, and leadership to provide timely financial reports, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with company policies and contract requirements. The role also contributes to process improvements in project accounting workflows and supports audits and documentation requests. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong project accounting and job cost skills, including budgeting, cost tracking, and variance analysis. Candidates should possess proficiency in general accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close. Candidates should possess experience with construction or heavy civil industry accounting systems and ERP/project management software. Candidates should possess solid analytical, problem-solving, and data management skills for reviewing financial information and supporting decision-making. Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, field staff, and external partners. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Relevant qualifications such as an associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field are preferred. Experience in public works or infrastructure projects, and familiarity with contract compliance and regulatory requirements, is beneficial.
