In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, including maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Your expertise will help support the financial health of our organization by delivering precise financial data and insightful analysis. Responsibilities CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred Duties include but not limited to:
  • Bookkeeping for small businesses using QuickBooks Desktop
  • Prepare tax returns using Lacerte
  • individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, LLC, Nonprofit
  • Prepare payroll & sales tax return
Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Experience resolving tax notices from IRS and FTB
  • Can Work independently
  • Must have an experience with Lacerte
  • Must have an experience with QuickBooks Desktop
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Attention to detail and reliability is a must
Job Type:
part-time or full time Manage daily bookkeeping activities, including data entry, accounts payable and receivable processing, and bank reconciliations using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Prepare and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling customer service inquiries related to account transactions or billing issues. Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules in accordance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls. Support governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting practices as needed, including tax preparation and compliance documentation. Requirements Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with familiarity in accounting principles and governmental accounting standards. Strong technical skills in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with financial software like Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or Ceridian is highly desirable. Knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance requirements; prior experience with public accounting firms is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—particularly Excel for data analysis—and advanced spreadsheet skills including formulas and pivot tables. Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet management. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating strong organizational skills. Effective communication skills for customer service interactions and team collaboration; experience in data entry and account analysis is essential. A background in payroll management, accounts payable/receivable management, or non-profit accounting will be advantageous.
