About the Role We are a Real Estate Development Corporate office. We're looking for an experienced accounting professional to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical accounting expertise, perhaps a former Controller or senior accounting leader, who stepped away from full-time work and is now looking for a flexible, meaningful way to re-engage professionally, without a full-time commitment. We value deep experience over recent job titles. If you've been out of the traditional workforce for a while (raising a family, caregiving, relocation, or otherwise) but kept your skills sharp, we want to hear from you. Job Requirements The position requires a candidate who can:
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries and general ledger account analysis and reconciliations.
- Bank account reconciliations for multiple companies
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Support the year-end corporate tax return process for multiple companies
- Prepare and maintain capital expenditure reconciliations
- Perform daily accounting for retail rents
- Provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts
- Perform various account reconciliations and cash flow analysis
- Perform other job related functions as assigned
- Ability to manage and multitask effectively
QUALIFICATIONS
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required (from a 4-year accredited University).
Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience working in accounting as an accountant. Experience with full-cycle accounting, month-end closing process and variance analysis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Solid understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply the concepts to specific situations. Knowledge of accrual based accounting. Knowledge of or ability to learn Quickbooks accounting software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate-level skills in Excel to perform analysis. Ability to work in a collaborative manner in a team-based environment. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use creative approaches to challenges. Committed to identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Solutions-oriented problem solving skills. Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing assignments. Ability to demonstrate flexibility and change in a dynamic environment.
