Job Description

An established, mission-driven nonprofit is seeking a Senior Accountant (Grants) to join its Finance team in a newly created role. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who wants true ownership and autonomy, with responsibility for managing a diverse portfolio of government, foundation, and privately funded grants from award through closeout.

What You'll DoOwn a portfolio of grants from initial setup through reconciliation, reporting, reimbursement, and closeout.

Manage monthly accounting, budget-to-actuals, forecasting, and grant-related journal entries.

Monitor spending and proactively identify variances, funding risks, and compliance issues.

Ensure grant expenses are accurately recorded, properly supported, and compliant with funding requirements.

Partner with Finance and Program Leadership to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

Support grant budgets, audits, reporting, and year-end close, while helping improve processes and controls.
