Lincolnshire, IL Work Arrangement:
Hybrid / On-Site About the Role We are seeking a Senior Audit Associate to join a growing Audit & Assurance team at a well-established public accounting and advisory firm. This role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional with multiple audit busy seasons and experience working directly with clients. You will perform and manage assigned audit engagements, prepare financial statement audit documentation, identify accounting issues, and work closely with managers, leadership, and clients. Key Responsibilities Perform and manage assigned financial statement audit and assurance engagements. Plan and execute audit procedures in accordance with professional standards. Prepare and review audit workpapers and engagement documentation. Communicate with clients regarding audit requests, findings, and engagement status. Research and resolve accounting and auditing issues. Manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines. Work closely with Audit & Assurance Managers and firm leadership. Ensure accurate and timely completion of audit deliverables. Support special audit and assurance projects, including business combinations and M&A. Provide high-quality client service throughout the engagement. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 3+ years of public accounting experience. 3+ busy seasons of audit/assurance experience. At least 1 busy season at the Senior Associate, Audit Senior, or Supervisor level. CPA certification or CPA eligibility required; active CPA preferred. Strong financial statement audit and accounting knowledge. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to independently manage assigned engagement responsibilities. Strong client-facing and project/time-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit/accounting software. Preferred Experience Experience working with one or more of the following is a plus: Construction Manufacturing / Distribution Technology Business combinations / M&A Middle-market or privately held companies Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have a background as a Senior Audit Associate, Audit Senior, Assurance Senior, or Audit Supervisor within a public accounting firm. Candidates should be comfortable managing audit responsibilities, communicating directly with clients, preparing audit documentation, and working independently while collaborating with engagement teams. Candidates without public accounting audit/assurance experience or the required audit busy seasons will not be considered.
Pay:
$76,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
