full-time Senior Staff Accountant | Contract to Hire Arlington Heights, IL We're working with a company in the northwest suburbs that is looking to add a Senior Staff Accountant on a contract basis. This role will support month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and general accounting operations. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Assist with month-end and year-end close Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Analyze financial data and research variances Support financial statement preparation Assist with audits and compliance requirements Reconcile bank accounts, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses Work with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP Advanced Excel skills Experience with ERP systems preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills CPA or CPA-track is a plus What We're Looking For Someone who can step in quickly and contribute immediately Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Experience supporting a fast-paced accounting team Compensation $34-47 hourly rate based on experience.
